Senior Software Engineer – AMT Equity Trading - OPEX Location: Merrimack, NH Job Description: Senior Software Engineer – AMT Equity Trading - OPEX The Role As a Senior Software Engineer in Asset Management Equity Technology, you will be hands on with supporting the Equity Trading product area in the development of the OPEX system. You will assist in leading development, research, and recommendation of appropriate methods, tools, and technologies to achieve domain-wide solutions. Role Responsibilities Designing and programming within sophisticated distributed systems, micro services, and event-based architectures Actively collaborating and driving engineering excellence, including framework advancement, standards formulation, and performance optimization Collaborating with stakeholders, Chapter Leads, Architecture, Product Owners, and Technical Leads to analyze and define technical requirements as well as to identify, maintain, and prioritize technical tasks including Technology Lifecycle Management and Continuous Improvement items Influencing innovative technology solutions to resolve complex business problems Continuously researching new and emerging technologies including prototypes to determine capabilities and feasibility Working in a fast-paced Agile software development environment with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools Consistently able to write clean, testable, readable, and easily maintainable code The Expertise and Skills You Bring Bachelor's degree (or above) in either Engineering or Computer Science related field 5 years’ experience as a full stack software engineer, delivering software using agile development practices 3 years’ experience with Amazon Web Services Exposure to test automation frameworks that support all types of testing (unit, component, integration, system etc.) executed through CI/CD pipelines You have deep knowledge of middleware Java stack, messaging technologies, containerization, web containers, and test automation You have an awareness of event-based systems, functional programming, emerging technologies, and messaging frameworks You have experience building enterprise cloud enabled distributed systems Hands-on experience with Python-based application development is a plus You demonstrate a test-driven approach to developing software and can build or contribute to automated testing frameworks that can detect any anomalies in functionality, performance, and integration You know, understand, and promote Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery engineering practices You can clearly document design options and decisions, and present these in an organized manner to technical as well as non-technical audiences You are a strong contributor with a collaborative work style in building, crafting, and reviewing code You have a desire to work optimally in an environment that has a full stack engineering mentality and encourages autonomy in the work that you do The Value You Deliver You will be a key member of the engineering team actively innovating and creatively experimenting so that we may better support business needs You bring curiosity and a questioning mind-set to work, asking always about the why and the value of an activity or task The Team Equity Trading Technology team develops and supports products and capabilities used by Equity Trading desks in Boston, London, and Hong Kong processing billions of dollars’ worth of trades.
