Director, Software Quality Engineering - Grade 7
The Workplace Investing Quality Engineering (QE) team is seeking a multifaceted, forward thinking organizational leader who is passionate about the customer and committed to quality. Strategic mentality coupled with technical competence of Quality practices drives our ideal candidate toward execution and delivery, while they lead a distributed team of Quality Engineers across Workplace Investing.
As a Director of Software Quality Engineering, you blend a deep commitment to optimizing delivery through agile and QE practices with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing associates. You are committed to improving the value delivered to our customers. You collaborate with other leaders to establish standards for your chapter, influence strategic decision-making, and build solutions in your area of expertise. You manage a team of chapter members who primarily work within autonomous squads across product areas but report directly to you. You are dedicated to helping associates grow and develop in their knowledge area and ensure alignment on the “how” of the work they perform. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
10+ years of technical leadership: building an environment and culture to support software quality engineering practices of high quality
BS or MS degree in a technical field such as computer science/engineering or related field
Seasoned technical global people leader focused on leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams to accelerate and achieve increased skill proficiency.
Proven record of identifying and developing strategic quality engineering talent.
A passion for Quality Engineering practices and proven record of implementing such practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong multi-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
A curiosity and passion to learn new skills and modeling a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching
Experience resource planning and talent allocation across large organizations
Actively share insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments across the organization
You have strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
Bring a track record of continuous improvement and success in fostering agile ways of working.
