Job Title: Safety Officer Manufacturing Industry

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Diploma / Certification in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
• Knowledge of local safety regulations and factory laws.
• Training in fire safety, first aid, and emergency response.
• Good understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, reporting tools).

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments on the shop floor.
• Identify unsafe conditions and practices; recommend and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor machine safety, equipment guarding, and safe operating procedures.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and suggest preventive measures.
• Conduct safety induction training for new employees and regular refresher training for workers.
• Organize toolbox talks and safety awareness programs.
• Ensure proper use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans (fire drills, evacuation procedures, etc.).
• Maintain safety records, incident logs, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with department heads to improve workplace safety standards.
• Monitor hazardous material handling, storage, and disposal practices.
• Ensure proper signage, labeling, and safety instructions are displayed across the plant.
• Promote a strong safety culture and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.
