Job Description
It is the responsibility of a Project Intern to assist a Senior Project Manager or Project Executive and Superintendent or Senior Superintendent. It is imperative that the Project Intern become familiar with all of Executive Construction’s Policies and Procedures and embrace Executive Construction’s core values. During the internship, the Project Intern will assist with estimating, purchasing, scheduling and job management.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Attend job start up meetings / weekly progress meetings, and coordinate job meeting notes and agenda activities
- Prepare and issue submittals and RFIs; track status as required
- Assist in the preparation of all budget reports and schedules
- Assist in preparation and review of change orders
- Update project schedule as required
- Prepare and track close-out documentation for projects as required
- Review a sworn statement with a project manager
- Prepare quantity takeoffs
- Assist in the preparation of the bidder’s list of qualified trade contractors
- Organize the sending of drawings and specifications out to trade contractors for bid
- Review trade contractor bids and identify any qualifications or clarifications to bid
- Assist with bid day activities
- Prepare and issue purchasing documents; monitor timeliness of purchases by the field and office
- Expedite shop drawings
- Qualify and identify long lead time items
- Visit the site to familiarize yourself with the site conditions
Field Management
- Assist in the preparation in the Superintendents daily reports
- Assist in the preparing the two week look ahead schedule
- Assist in maintaining current drawing / documents sets including supplemental information
- Participate in and document sub-contractor meetings
- Assist in the preparation and review all required permits
- Maintain a safe jobsite
- Administer Executive Construction’s safety program
- Work with installers to better understand their role and the construction process
- Prepare field driven RFIs / issues and submit to Project Team
Technology
- Begin to develop skills in Project Management Software, including Viewpoint, Building Connected, Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, etc.
