Restoration Technician
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
Restoration Technician – Honolulu HI
At EverGreene Architectural Arts, we specialize in preserving and enhancing our country’s most iconic architectural treasures, artifacts, and artwork and for nearly 50 years, have been a national leader in architectural restoration, conservation, and design — trusted to work on some of the most iconic and historically significant buildings in the United States.
We are currently looking for Restoration Technicians in Honolulu, HI to work on an exciting restoration project. Standard work hours are 7:00 am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday with the occasional opportunity for overtime. The position is classified as Variable Hour or “Project-based” and will run approximately 5 months starting October 5th 2026.
Responsibilities:
A Technician at EverGreene performs hands-on conservation and restoration of historic architectural finishes including:
- Decorative painting / pattern replication
- Specialty inpainting (a technique used to restore or modify missing, damaged, or masked parts of an image or physical artwork so they blend seamlessly with the surrounding area)
- Surface preparation prior to painting
- Gilding / Gold leafing
- Canvas and decorative finish installation
- Minor repairs to historic architectural elements
- Unload and load material when needed
Requirements & Skills
- The individual must be able to navigate a jobsite that is under construction
- Must be able to climb scaffold, stairs; Experience working on scaffolding is a plus
- Must be comfortable working on surfaces at different heights which may require kneeling, crouching or working overhead
- Must be able to lift heavy objects. and carry tools / materials around a jobsite
- Must be able to wear a respirator extended hours during the workday when required
- Must be able wear a dust mask for extended hours during the day
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work on a team as the member of a crew
- Commitment to delivering the highest quality work
Special Requirements: This position requires the employee to work on job sites where strict compliance with OSHA safety procedures including the consistent and proper use of the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is critical. This position may require occasional travel.
- OSHA 10 Certification required.
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking
- Possess the ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
- Must be willing and able to wear full PPE at all times, including half mask or full mask respirator when required
- The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing
- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
Potential Hazards & Safety Requirements
- This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair
- Working at heights and the use of platforms and scaffolds
- Working in awkward positions, or performing repetitive physical tasks and standing for long periods of time
- Lifting heavy or awkward objects
- Possible wear & use of respirators and body harnesses
