Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Oracle NetSuite Functional Consultant cum Project Lead to support a major legal entity carve-out and demerger initiative for one of our customers.

The role will be responsible for assessing and implementing the required changes in NetSuite to enable the separation of selected legal entities, including financial structures, accounting processes, master data, transactions, reporting, controls, integrations and historical data, while ensuring business continuity.

This is a hands-on Finance and NetSuite project role requiring strong expertise in Finance, Controlling, NetSuite Project management and project co-ordination. The consultant will work closely with Finance leadership and users, business stakeholders, NetSuite technical teams and implementation partner.

Key Responsibilities

NetSuite Carve-out & Demerger

· Lead the NetSuite functional workstream for the legal entity carve-out/demerger.

· Assess the impact of the separation on NetSuite legal entities, subsidiaries, chart of accounts, accounting dimensions, master data, transactions, workflows, roles, reporting and integrations.

· Define the required NetSuite configuration changes to support the separated entities.

· Support data separation, migration, cleansing, validation and reconciliation activities.

· Identify dependencies between the entities being separated and the retained organization.

· Lead and support cutover planning, execution, reconciliation and post-go-live stabilization.

Finance & Controlling

· Work independently with Finance and Controlling stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into NetSuite solutions.

· Demonstrate strong understanding of:

o General Ledger (GL)

o Accounts Payable (AP)

o Accounts Receivable (AR)

o Billing

o Revenue recognition

o Budgeting and forecasting

o Project accounting

o Fixed Assets

o Intercompany accounting

o Reconciliations

o Financial reporting

o Financial controls

· Assess the impact of the carve-out on accounting processes, financial controls and reporting.

· Support design of appropriate intercompany, allocation, consolidation and financial reporting processes where applicable.

· Ensure data and financial balances are accurately reconciled before and after the separation.

NetSuite Functional Ownership

· Act as the functional SME and primary NetSuite Project lead for the project.

· Conduct Finance/business requirement workshops, process mapping and fit-gap analysis.

· Translate business requirements into functional designs, configurations and solution specifications.

· Evaluate whether requirements should be addressed through standard NetSuite functionality, configuration, workflow, integration, automation or customization.

· Review and validate NetSuite configurations, functional & technical solutions delivered by technical teams or implementation partners.

· Troubleshoot complex functional issues and drive timely resolution.

Project & Delivery Management

· Independently manage the initiative, including scope, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, risks and issues.

· Develop and maintain the functional workplan for the carve-out activities.

· Coordinate with Finance, Controlling, IT, technical teams, data teams and implementation partners.

· Track project progress and proactively escalate risks, dependencies and decisions.

· Review partner estimates, designs and recommendations and challenge them where appropriate.

· Lead functional testing, UAT, cutover preparation, go-live and stabilization activities.

Data, Integration & Testing

· Assess the impact of the carve-out on NetSuite integrations with other enterprise applications.

· Support data extraction, transformation, migration and reconciliation.

· Define and execute functional and integration test scenarios.

· Validate financial data, opening balances, transactions, master data and reporting following migration/separation.

· Ensure adequate regression testing before go-live.

Governance, Controls & Documentation

· Ensure NetSuite configuration supports appropriate financial controls, approval workflows, roles and segregation of duties.

· Ensure functional designs, process maps, configuration documentation, data-migration requirements, test scenarios and cutover documentation are maintained and delivered by the partner team.

· Ensure decisions and configuration changes are properly documented.

· Support knowledge transfer to internal teams following completion of the carve-out.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

· 7+ years of strong hands-on Oracle NetSuite functional experience.

· Proven experience in NetSuite Finance and Accounting implementations/enhancements.

· Proven experience of NetSuite Project management module and its effective usage

· Strong Finance & Controlling functional expertise with the ability to independently work with Finance stakeholders.

· Proven experience in GL, AP, AR, billing, revenue, budgeting, project accounting, fixed assets, reconciliations and financial controls.

· Strong understanding of NetSuite subsidiaries/legal entities and financial structures.

· Experience in at least one significant NetSuite implementation, transformation, restructuring or entity-separation initiative.

· Experience with data migration, financial reconciliation, integrations, testing, cutover and stabilization.

· Strong project/workstream management capability with the ability to independently drive deliverables.

· Ability to translate business requirements into practical NetSuite functional solutions.

· Strong experience working with Finance, Controlling, IT, technical teams and implementation partners.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.

Highly Preferred

· Previous experience with legal entity carve-outs, demergers, divestitures, acquisitions or business separations.

· Experience with intercompany transactions, consolidation and financial separation.

· Experience working on complex multi-subsidiary NetSuite environments.

· NetSuite certifications such as SuiteFoundation / SuiteSuccess / ERP Consultant.

· Experience in manufacturing or other complex operational environments.

· Experience managing Finance workstreams within large ERP transformation programs.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on NetSuite Finance SME who can also lead a project workstream. They should be equally comfortable discussing accounting requirements with a CFO/Finance Controller, analysing NetSuite configuration and coordinating technical teams and implementation partners.

P.S: This is not a pure NetSuite configuration or project-coordination role. Strong Finance/Controlling expertise and hands-on NetSuite project experience are mandatory.
