Job Description
Summary: Equitable is a company dedicated to helping clients secure their financial well-being. They are seeking an experienced Billing Analyst to manage billing and reconciliation processes, oversee delinquency procedures, and enhance collections efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Create weekly SOX control version of suspense report
- Identify each item on suspense as it relates to TPA, Portability or Regular suspense funds
- Research regular suspense items to be applied to client group or refund back to submitter within 3 months of receipt
- Escheat regular suspense items after 13 months of no client identification
- Run weekly reports of active and terminated clients with credit balance
- For active clients—ensure latest invoice is generated and posted
- For terminated clients—ensure outreach to refund client is completed and refund issued where appropriate, otherwise send for escheatment after 13 months
- Run weekly report of terminated clients with debit balance
- Ensure Terminated Entity with Balance emails are systematically being sent out
- Participate in the evolvement of the collections process for groups that remain with a balance
- Get Bill Lapse Date applied to groups when lapse letters are issued
- Check for groups that have paid current within lapse grace period and remove the lapse status to bill client current
- Submit termination for non-payment on clients that lapse due to non-payment
- Research groups that aren’t lapsed that appear on monthly KPI report
- Contribute to ServiceNow tickets submitted to billing team, expectation is 1-2 tickets per day during off peak season and 2-3 ticket per day during peak season
- Process Group/Policy Anniversary changes requested by client and review impact the change has to invoice
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent work experience
- 1+ year of billing or financial experience
- Customer-oriented and sensitive to customer priorities
- Ability to operate in a challenging and fast-paced team environment
- Proven proficiency in MS Excel to run pivot tables
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelors degree
- Billing experience within the Employee Benefits / Group Insurance industry
- Ability to run pre-written queries in SQL
- Prior collections team experience
