R&D Engineering Intern at Entegris in Colorado Springs, CO

Summary: Entegris is seeking a Research & Development Intern to join their team for the Summer 2026 season. The intern will work on cutting-edge purge research and apply knowledge in fluid mechanics, electro-mechanics, CAD design, prototyping, and testing. Responsibilities: - Design various fixtures, tools, and aerodynamic features in SolidWorks - Use principles of Fluid Mechanics to mathematically defend a design - Design, optimize, and validate flow simulations for FOUP purge - Prototype, test, and iterate on various designs to achieve a desired outcome - Engage in cutting-edge research and data acquisition - Invent electromechanical machines to improve testing - Use Finite Element Analysis to verify a design and validate it using hand calculations (solid mechanics) - Engage in basic circuit design and electrical engineering principles - Work with a team of engineers to help solve challenging problems - Present findings to other engineers and upper management Required Qualifications: - Desire to apply Statics, Solid Mechanics, and Fluid Mechanics knowledge - Strong SolidWorks modeling abilities - Software/Hardware interface understanding - Mechanical and Electrical Engineering knowledge - Self-motivated to work with stakeholders to gather the requirements and scope of projects - Strong communication skills, able to communicate across different teams/stakeholders - Must be a currently enrolled student - Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-May/June through August/September - Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in an internship program Preferred Qualifications: - Coding capabilities (Arduino and Python), preferred Required Skills: SolidWorks, Fluid Mechanics, Electromechanical Engineering Important Skills: Finite Element Analysis, Arduino, Python Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication Skills, Self-motivated Benefits: Generous 401(K) plan with an impressive employer match, Excellent health packages to fit your needs, Flexible work schedule with paid holidays and sick time, Values-driven culture with colleagues that rally around People, Accountability, Creativity and Excellence
