Join our team and help shape the future of Calgary’s energy infrastructure. We are looking for a Design Engineer-in-Training (EIT), URD, who will play a key role in supporting residential servicing projects by preparing detailed designs, cost estimates, work packages, and technical specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience while contributing to essential power distribution initiatives across the city.
Major Responsibilities:
Under the supervision and guidance of a professional engineer:
Provide estimates, detailed design, planning, and project coordination of engineering and construction activities for residential distribution projects.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, external customers, and design consultants, on new distribution service installations.
Ensure designs are safe, practical, economical, and constructible.
Undertake special projects as required by the URD Team Lead.
Ensure all applicable engineering, industry and ENMAX Corporation standards, codes, regulations and public safety, are applied in designs.
Provide exceptional customer service by proactively managing client expectations and resolving technical and project issues in a timely manner
Identify and support process improvements
All clarifications related to these responsibilities are directed to the URD Team Lead, and professional work products with all assumptions and risks are identified to the professional engineer in an organized fashion.
Education Required:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
Registered as an Engineer-in-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
Qualifications & Experience:
Sound engineering and operational knowledge of distribution utility systems.
Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize and complete work within deadlines.
Must hold a valid driver’s license with no more than 6 demerits and be able to attend site visits.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to build key relationships with stakeholders.
Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills with a willingness to learn.

Salary: Engineer in Training Family Level A (Current CUPE 2025 rates)
$81,593.69 - $86,692.06 - $91,790.4396,888.79 - $101,987.16
Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
