Summary: ENGIE North America is leading the zero-carbon transition by developing renewable, efficient, and accessible energy. The Energy Market Intern will support the Economic Analysis team by developing market outlooks, analyzing pricing and consultant forecasts, maintaining market data, and contributing to revenue projections and LCOE calculations for energy assets across North America.
Responsibilities:
- Support development of ENGIE’s internal view on market pricing across North American markets. Compare ENGIE assumptions and outputs with various external consultant forecasts to highlight differences and drivers
- Collect, organize, and maintain market inputs—including fuel prices, load forecasts, capacity trends, policy drivers, and technology outlooks. Track changes over time and benchmark consultant inputs and outputs against ENGIE’s internal datasets
- Assist in developing long-term revenue trajectories for ENGIE’s operating and development-stage assets across multiple ISOs. Contribute to streamlining and automating revenue compilation processes
- Conduct research on industry trends, policy developments, and market fundamentals. Analyze consultant reports and market data, identify emerging patterns, and prepare recurring insights for internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2nd year undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Science, or related field with data analytics background with at least a current GPA of 2.8 or higher
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Business acumen with an ability to prepare quantitative analysis
- Good interpersonal skills, with exceptional organization, prioritization, and time management skills, with a high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Python, VBA, or Power BI is a plus
