Job Description
Summary: Emigrant Bank, through its subsidiary New York Private Finance LLC, provides structured loans and advisory services to private investors and entrepreneurs. The Credit Analyst will support the lending function by conducting financial modeling, due diligence, and documentation on lending transactions, while also assisting in business development and client communications.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and assist loan prospect and prospective client meetings
- Participate in the due diligence investigation of potential borrowers
- Assist in all due diligence activities for new loan transactions, including external and internal
- Receive, collect and log-in due diligence materials
- Perform research on industry, economic and credit risks relating to prospective borrower, and the potential collateral
- Create financial models and analysis of borrowers and collateral companies to support credit analysis and documentation
- Participate in collateral definition and appraisal process
- Prepare drafts of term sheets and credit memoranda
- Review and respond to the draft credit documents and related schedules
- Attend internal credit meetings concerning the loan credit activities
- Receive, collect and log-in due diligence materials
- Create financial models and analysis of client information to support credit client recommendations and documentation
- Create client recommendations and presentations
- Attend and assist at client meetings
- Assist business development officers in new client generation
- Assist in design and production of prospect and client communications
- Assist in design and production of new business pitch materials
- Attend new business meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional presentation, organizational skills and a proactive customer service approach. This position requires the incumbent to communicate clearly with internal business units and co-workers
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and Word
- Excellent detail orientation, exceptional problem-solving skills, and an ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines in a proactive manner with little supervision
- 1 to 3 years of work experience in accounting or finance, with experience in credit analysis, lending or financial transaction activities
- Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with using Bloomberg Terminal a plus
