Senior Mechanical Engineer at Emergent Group · Newcastle

ABOUT US

At Advitech, our engineers work on challenging, real-world problems across a diverse range of industries and technologies. Our projects span established and emerging sectors – from mining, manufacturing and infrastructure through to energy transition, defence, health and new technologies – giving our people the opportunity to apply their expertise to varied and meaningful engineering challenges.

Advitech is the founding company of Emergent Group. Having been around for nearly 40 years, we know how to treat our people, and our clients, to achieve the best outcomes. When you join Advitech, you also collaborate and support our other technical service companies within the Group, enhancing your exposure to diverse projects, challenging your technician abilities and accelerating your career growth.

THE ROLE - SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play an important role in delivering projects. You’ll combine strong technical capability with practical engineering judgement, working alongside our mechanical engineers and specialists from across Advitech’s broader engineering, environmental, risk and digital teams to develop practical, innovative solutions for our clients.

Our work is diverse and often multidisciplinary. You might be solving a complex equipment or operational challenge, designing or modifying plant and mechanical systems, improving safety and reliability, supporting the development of new infrastructure, or helping a client introduce an emerging technology. Increasingly, our projects also bring together traditional engineering expertise with digital technologies, data and new approaches to how assets are designed, operated and maintained.

This is more than a project delivery role. You’ll have the opportunity to lead challenging engineering projects, work directly with clients, mentor and develop other engineers, and contribute to the continued growth and direction of our Mechanical Engineering team. You’ll work across disciplines and draw on the breadth of capability within Advitech to tackle problems that rarely sit neatly within a single area of engineering.

If you’re an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working collaboratively and seeing engineering solutions move from concept through to implementation, this is an opportunity to broaden your impact while helping shape the next stage of Advitech’s Mechanical Engineering capability.
