Location: Lilly GBS, Little Island Cork
Type: Hybrid role requiring the successful candidate to be on site 50% of the month in Little Island, Cork and 50% working remotely.
Course Eligibility: BSc in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related analytical discipline.

Purpose of team and role
The Global Capabilities Optimisation and Automation (GCOA) Team is responsible for driving innovation, process optimisation, and digital transformation across Cork GBS and the wider Lilly organisation. The team works closely with business partners to identify opportunities for improvement, leverage emerging technologies, and deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, decision-making, and business outcomes.
As a Data and Analytics Intern, you will support the team in transforming data into meaningful insights that help drive innovation and operational excellence. You will work with modern analytics and data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Platform, and Python, to analyse business data, develop reports and dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making. The role provides exposure to real-world business challenges, enabling you to build technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills while contributing to projects that improve processes and create value across Global Business Solutions
Responsibilities:
Support data analytics and automation initiatives by gathering requirements, analysing data, and identifying process improvement opportunities.
Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and insights using tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and the Power Platform.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and the GCOA team to help deliver data-driven solutions that create measurable value.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities across analytics and automation projects.
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in 3rd level education and ready to pursue student placement as part of an undergraduate program.
Exposure to data analysis, reporting, or data visualisation through academic coursework or projects.
Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, or similar programming languages.
Familiarity with data analytics and data science concepts.
