Summary: Elevate Robotics, Inc. is a subsidiary of Apptronik focused on democratizing mobile manipulation technology to enhance worker safety and address labor shortages. The Software Engineer Intern will engage in hands-on work with real robots, automating processes, and supporting senior engineers in achieving critical project milestones. Responsibilities: - Assist in control system tuning for industrial robots - Support integration of autonomy software with perception, navigation, manipulation, and control systems - Write clean, well-documented C++ and Python code under guidance from senior engineers - Assist with production robot bringup - Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning sessions - Contribute to improving software quality, reliability, and test coverage Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or a related field - Strong programming fundamentals in C++ - Robot tuning and modeling experience - Comfort with Git - Basic understanding of robotics or autonomous systems concepts - Familiarity with Linux development environments - Ability to learn quickly, work collaboratively, and take ownership of well-defined tasks - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with AI-assisted coding (A token budget will be included) - Prior experience with robotics software, simulations, or autonomous systems - Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2 - Exposure to depth camera integration - Interest in real-world deployment challenges Required Skills: C++, Python, Robot tuning, Modeling, Git, Robotics concepts, Autonomous systems concepts, Linux development environment, ROS, ROS 2, Robotics software, Simulations, Depth camera integration Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer
