The Accounting Data Analyst will analyze sales and financial data to provide insights that support business decisions, ensure data integrity, and streamline reporting processes across various teams. Responsibilities: - Collect, analyze, and interpret sales and financial data to identify trends, variances, and actionable insights - Develop, maintain, and distribute reports and dashboards covering sales performance, commissions, rebates, and key financial metrics, including executive-level reporting - Perform account reconciliations related to sales, commissions, rebates, and customer accounts as part of the month-end close process - Manage and maintain the commissions inbox, providing timely customer service to rep agencies by responding to inquiries and resolving discrepancies - Maintain accurate sales and commission-related data within systems (e.g., sales rep structures, commission agreement setups, region IDs), ensuring alignment with financial records - Assist with accounts receivable and sales-related metrics, including tracking collections, aging, and performance trends - Assist with audit requests by preparing supporting schedules, documentation, and reconciliations - Identify and recommend process improvements (automations) to enhance reporting efficiency, data accuracy, and cross-functional workflows - Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems, reports, and financial outputs - Support the broader accounting team on an as-needed basis, contributing to projects, analyses, and cross-functional initiatives - Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics or related fields - Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in accounting, data analysis, or a related field preferred - Basic understanding of accounting principles, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and chart of accounts - Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., IFS or similar) is preferred - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, Power Query & VBA) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights - High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills - Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as strong communication and 'managing up' skills - Understanding of sales-related financial processes, including commissions, rebates, and revenue reporting - Ability to work with large data sets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness while handling sensitive and confidential information with a high level of discretion - Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment - Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support the implementation of more efficient workflows - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, take ownership of assigned processes from start to finish - Ability to communicate effectively in person, cross-functionally, over the phone, and in writing, using proper English grammar, spelling, and style -
