Job Description
Summary: Edge Autonomy is focused on the aerospace and defense industry, seeking a Production Engineering Intern to support their Production Engineering team. This role provides hands-on experience across various engineering disciplines and contributes to real-world projects, bridging the gap between academic theory and practical application.
Responsibilities:
- Gain insight into the daily responsibilities of Production Engineers in the aerospace and defense sector
- Read and interpret engineering work products (models, drawings, schematics) relevant to the intern's discipline and compare them with actual hardware
- Experience the engineering interface with production teams, including support and handoffs necessary for efficient workflow
- Participate in a Production Engineering project from conception (problem statement) to completion (delivery of design, documentation, or processes)
- Develop process improvement ideas and implement the solutions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain timelines and project documentation
- Assist in the creation, review, and release of Production Engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Learn methods for investigating and diagnosing issues with abnormally performing equipment, developing critical troubleshooting skills
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical, Software, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in aerospace and defense applications
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a readiness to collaborate in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with engineering software and tools relevant to the specific discipline
- Proven track record of creating and managing technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and design-related issues effectively
