Job Description
The Manager, SMO Logistics Operations Efficiency and Effectiveness leads an enterprise program that improves the visibility, security, sustainability, cost effectiveness, and service performance of global logistics operations. The role owns the evolution of IoT-enabled solutions for pharmaceutical shipping and freight security, including device lifecycle management, performance governance, and continuous improvement. In partnership with Logistics, Quality, Procurement, Finance, BTS/IT, and external providers, the Manager translates operational insight into scalable capabilities that protect product, reduce risk, and optimize total logistics cost.
Responsibilities:
Own strategy, deployment, and lifecycle management for IoT-enabled visibility and freight-security devices, including requirements, vendor management, provisioning, inventory, maintenance, data quality, user adoption, and retirement.
Advance end-to-end pharmaceutical shipping solutions that strengthen shipment visibility, product protection, exception management, chain of custody, and freight-security controls in line with quality, regulatory, and business requirements.
Establish standardized performance governance, including KPIs, dashboards, supplier scorecards, and operating cadences for Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
Analyze logistics, device, service-provider, and cost data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; develop prioritized, measurable action plans.
Drive sustainability initiatives that balance emissions reduction, modal and network optimization, packaging and device reuse, and financial performance.
Implement scalable processes, policies, controls, and best practices for logistics operations, technology adoption, supplier governance, and program delivery.
Facilitate organizational change management and communicate strategic priorities effectively across all levels.
Prepare executive-ready performance reporting, recommendations, and industry benchmarks to support strategic decision-making across global, cross-cultural teams.
