Undergraduate Research Assistant

Openings: 2 positions available

Location: On-Campus (Commerce)

IMPORTANT: Total number of hours to be worked per week cannot exceed 10 hours. Position is paid bi-weekly $10 per hour.

SUMMARY:

This undergraduate research position is to support faculty research

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (15 or less):

• Preparing the form work for the concrete specimens

• Pouring the concrete and curing the specimens

• Preparing the specimens for testing

• Testing the specimens and collecting data

• Trashing the damaged concrete specimens after testing

All of these activities will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ayman Elzohairy in the on-campus and off-campus concrete labs. The students will work around their schedule.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a currently enrolled student at East Texas A&M University in good academic standing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team with a professional demeanor.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate would be any level Construction Engineering major in good standing with the university. Must be passing all classes.
