Summary: Shoe Palace is a trusted athletic footwear and apparel retail chain in the United States, and they are seeking a Production Design Assistant. The role involves assisting the design team with creating original concepts, maintaining design files, sourcing materials, and managing small projects with vendors. Responsibilities: - Assist designer in creating original concepts that encompass style, color, and print to ensure customer focused offerings that meet fashion and quality requirements are consistent with the brand profile - Provide an ongoing array of relevant design options that ensure brand integrity by researching and recommending trims, styles, prints, stitching, colors, etc - Support the Design team by maintaining sample checklists, sketch boards, shared electronic files, tech packs, graphic designs, etc - Organize and update design folders with relevant line sheets, orders, and invoices - Create and update line sheets with the latest information - Source fabrics and trims from vendors. Sort and label all fabrics and trims - Compile a shared drive of inspiration and trends for upcoming projects - Assist in fitting garments and making adjustments - Support in tech pack and spec sheet creation - Manage small projects with vendors/ manufacturers - Opportunities to design apparel and footwear will be presented to assistants based on skill Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Arts, Business Admin, or equivalent work experience - Work experience in fashion retail or production - Knowledge of Adobe Suites: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign - Great communication skills - Organization - Highly motivated individuals Preferred Qualifications: - Related experience in design with excellent technical knowledge - Previous work experience in the apparel industry - Knowledge of trending athletic shoe industry Required Skills: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Fashion Design, Tech Pack Creation, Spec Sheet Creation, Sample Checklist Management, Graphic Design, Trend Research, Vendor Management, Apparel Fitting and Adjustments Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k + your SP discount
