Position Summary:
The BDC Manager is responsible for leading and managing the dealership’s Business Development Center (BDC) to maximize sales and service opportunities through effective customer communication, appointment setting, follow-up, and lead management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, train, coach, and motivate BDC representatives.
- Monitor incoming internet, phone, and third-party leads.
- Ensure leads are contacted promptly and consistently according to dealership standards.
- Develop and maintain effective follow-up processes for unsold prospects, appointments, and missed opportunities.
- Monitor appointment scheduling, confirmations, show rates, and closing ratios.
- Track BDC performance using dealership CRM and reporting tools.
- Work closely with Sales and Service Managers to ensure appointments are properly handled and customers receive a seamless experience.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Hold BDC team members accountable for activity, follow-up, appointment, and performance goals.
- Assist with recruiting and onboarding BDC personnel.
- Maintain accurate customer records and ensure CRM processes are followed.
- Develop scripts, call guides, email/text templates, and other customer communication strategies.
- Handle escalated customer concerns and assist with difficult or high-value leads.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and applicable laws regarding customer communications and privacy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous automotive dealership BDC, Internet Sales, or Sales management experience.
- Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
- Strong computer and CRM skills.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and hold a team accountable to goals.
