Summary: Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA, focused on tackling important national challenges. They are seeking a Sensor Electrical Engineering Summer Intern to support the research and development of precision inertial guidance instruments, working closely with senior technical staff on various engineering projects. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhancement engineering solutions for challenging problems - Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support - Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process - Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines - Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required - US citizenship status is required - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment - Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities - Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel Preferred Qualifications: - Scripting and modeling in MATLAB, Simulink, Labview, etc - Simulation tools such as SPICE, CST, COMSOL, and ANSYS HFSS/SIwave - Digital/FPGA design tools, such as Xilinx Vivado and Microsemi Libero - Board & chip design tool sets, such as Cadence and Mentor Graphics - Signal integrity, layout, and grounding design principles - Digital signal processing, classical controls, and/or modern controls - Hands on experience in digital and/or analog electronics design, test, and debug Required Skills: MATLAB, Simulink, Digital/FPGA design, Analog electronics design Important Skills: SPICE, CST, COMSOL, ANSYS HFSS, Cadence, Mentor Graphics Nice-to-Have Skills: MS Office, communication, Teamwork, Adaptability, Work ethic Benefits: Workplace flexibility, Employee clubs ranging from photography to yoga, Health and finance workshops, Off site social events, Discounts to local museums and cultural activities
