RF Electronics Intern at Draper in Cambridge, MA

Summary: Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA. They are seeking a summer intern within the Hardware Design & Development Directorate to assist with projects impacting national security, particularly related to NASA's Space Geodesy Project. The intern will focus on design, development, documentation, and coding tasks related to precision navigation and timing techniques. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhancement engineering solutions for challenging problems - Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support - Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process - Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines - Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required - Students must be US citizens who are enrolled in an accredited engineering curriculum and able to work full-time from May - August - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment - Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities - Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Experience with two or more of the following: Scripting and modeling in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Labview, etc - Experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS HFSS, FEKO, CST Microwave Studio - Experience with automation of Test Equipment - Experience with digital signal processing, classical controls, and/or modern controls - Hands on experience in digital and/or analog electronics design, prototyping, test, and debug using instruments such as oscilloscopes Required Skills: MATLAB, Python, C/C++ Important Skills: Digital signal processing, Automation of Test Equipment, Microwave hardware Nice-to-Have Skills: computer skills Benefits: Workplace flexibility, Employee clubs ranging from photography to yoga, Health and finance workshops, Off site social events, Discounts to local museums and cultural activities
