Human Systems and Visualization Intern at Draper in Cambridge, MA

Summary: Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA. They are seeking a Human Systems and Visualization Intern to develop front end interfaces for advanced Position, Navigation and Timing tools and support user facing visualizations for key performance metrics. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging problems - Generate and present visualizations in user facing GUI including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process - Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines - Performs other duties as assigned - Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support - Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process Required Qualifications: - Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required - Familiarity with Front end software development, and data visualization, preferably C++ or Python - Familiarity with Matlab - Progress towards an Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant degree - Familiarity with AFSIM is strongly desired - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment - Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities - Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Familiarity with creating and delivering presentations of engineering designs - Familiarity with Guidance, Navigation and control technologies, and Kalman Filters - Basic knowledge of dynamics and linear algebra a plus Required Skills: Front end software development, Data visualization, C++, Python, Matlab, AFSIM, Guidance, Navigation, Control technologies, Kalman Filters, Dynamics, Linear algebra, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, work in a team Benefits: Workplace flexibility, Employee clubs ranging from photography to yoga, Health and finance workshops, Off site social events, Discounts to local museums and cultural activities
