Human Systems and Visualization Intern at Draper in Cambridge, MA

Summary: Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA. The human systems and visualization group is seeking an intern who could develop front end interfaces for advanced Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) tools, as well as support user facing visualizations for key performance metrics. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging problems - Generate and present visualizations in user facing GUI including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process - Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines - Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment - Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities - Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with Front end software development, and data visualization, preferably C++ or Python - Familiarity with Matlab - Progress towards an Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant degree - Familiarity with AFSIM is strongly desired - Familiarity with creating and delivering presentations of engineering designs - Familiarity with Guidance, Navigation and control technologies, and Kalman Filters - Basic knowledge of dynamics and linear algebra a plus Required Skills: Front End Software Development, Data Visualization, C++, Python, Matlab, Guidance Navigation, Control Technologies, Kalman Filters, Dynamics, Linear Algebra Benefits: Workplace flexibility, Employee clubs ranging from photography to yoga, Health and finance workshops, Off site social events, Discounts to local museums and cultural activities
