The Embedded Software Engineer 1 will provide technical expertise and leadership in developing complex, real-time embedded software applications, collaborating throughout the software lifecycle from architecture to release. Responsibilities: - Designs and implements embedded software architecture for equipment monitoring and control with guidance - Evaluates embedded software/firmware/hardware and design with guidance - Codes, debugs, and tests system software - Performs embedded software and multi-platform software implementation - Contribute content for technical reports and presentations with appropriate guidance - Adapt appropriately to changes in program requirements - Identify challenges associated with assigned work and communicate them to project leadership - Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering - 0-3 years experience in the development of embedded software or applicable experience - Excellent development and troubleshooting skills on embedded targets - Experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers and laboratory test equipment - Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems - Knowledge of development for real-time execution - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Knowledge of software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review processes - Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines - Excellent verbal and written communications skills - Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance Preferred Qualifications: - Secret Clearance is preferred Required Skills: Embedded software development, Real-time operating systems, In-circuit emulators, JTAG debugging, IP protocols, Hardware subsystems, Software configuration management, Defect tracking tools, Peer review processes, Analytical skills, Time management skills Benefits: Workplace flexibility, Employee clubs ranging from photography to yoga, Health and finance workshops, Off site social events, Discounts to local museums and cultural activities
