Summary: Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA, focused on tackling important national challenges. The Digital Engineering Integrated Capabilities Intern will learn to apply Systems Engineering approaches to architect Digital Engineering capabilities and develop necessary products using modern software development processes. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhancement engineering solutions for challenging problems - Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support - Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process - Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines - Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required - Student pursuing a B.S. degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field - Experience with any programming language such at MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C++, etc - Experience with any systems engineering focused tools such as MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS, etc - A self-motivated individual with a can-do attitude that can tackle complex and ambiguously defined problems - Familiarity with creating and delivering presentations of engineering designs - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment - Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities - Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge and interest in interdisciplinary work spanning Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, and Trade Space Exploration (TSE) - System Analysis, Dashboard development, Optimization techniques, Numerical methods, and Physics-based modeling Required Skills: Systems Engineering, Programming languages, Systems engineering tools Important Skills: Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Trade Space Exploration Nice-to-Have Skills: Dashboard development, Numerical methods, Physics-based modeling Benefits: Workplace flexibility, Employee clubs ranging from photography to yoga, Health and finance workshops, Off site social events, Discounts to local museums and cultural activities
