Job Description
Medical Doctor - Consultant Urologist - Open to Caymanians and those without immigration restrictions only.
The primary role of this Specialist are:
- Diagnosing and treating patients with urological conditions, such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, bladder and prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction, infertility, and urinary incontinence.
- Conducting thorough medical examinations, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, urine tests, ultrasounds, and biopsies.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on diagnosing and assessing patients' needs, including prescribing medications, recommending surgical interventions, or providing non-surgical interventions.
- Performing various urological procedures, including cystoscopies, minimally invasive surgeries, robotic surgeries, and laser treatments, to treat urological conditions and improve patients' health outcomes.
- Providing counseling and education to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote urological health.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care and ensure a multidisciplinary approach.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient information, examination findings, test results, and treatment plans, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Keeping abreast of advancements in the field of urology through attending conferences, participating in continuing medical education activities, and reading relevant scientific literature. Qualifications • Must have completed a residency in Urology, be board-certified and have garnered at least 5 years Postgraduate experience • Valid License to Practice with the Cayman Medical and Dental Council • Fluent in the English language and demonstrate effective oral communication and writing skills in said language. • Possess strong work-ethics and excellent inter-personal skills, thereby promoting a culture of collaboration and camaraderie. • Adherence to health and ethical codes, including when under duress. • Attendance at medical conferences. • Personable, supportive disposition. • Willing to contribute time and efforts through membership to the many Medical Staff Committees and activities that facilitates best practice and patient well-being Required education Doctoral Degree
