About the Role:
Discovery Community College is seeking a qualified Travel Nurse Instructor to provide short-term instructional coverage at our Prince George campus. This is a travel-based assignment designed to support program continuity through lab and/or clinical instruction.
The successful candidate will travel to Prince George for the duration of the assignment, with all major travel-related expenses covered by the College.
Start Date - June 24, 2026
Work Schedule - Monday to Friday ( 8:30 am to 5:00)
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student learning in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, providing guidance and support throughout.
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments aligned with course objectives.
- Supervise students during clinical placements, ensuring safe, ethical, and competent care practices.
- Ensure compliance with program accreditation standards, regulatory guidelines, and college policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and evaluations.
- Two or more years of full-time nursing experience – required.
- 2800 hours of nursing experience
- nursing experience must include working with older adults with complex health needs
- Nursing experience must include experience or orientation in home support and multi-level care
- Ability to teach adult learners (mentoring / instructing)
- Provincial Instructors Diploma and previous experience or
- Aptitude and willingness to learn and obtain an Instructor Diploma (with our help)
- Hourly Rate: $55.00 per hour
- Completion Bonus: $1,000 upon successful completion of the full assignment
- Travel: Round-trip airfare between home location and Prince George covered by the College
- Flights Home: Return travel provided approximately every 2–3 weeks (subject to scheduling)
- Accommodation: Fully employer-paid accommodations in Prince George
- Meals: Meal allowance provided for the duration of the assignment
