Job Description
Summary: Direct Supply is building the future of healthcare technology with industry-leading products, solutions and platforms to help improve the lives of millions of seniors and those who care for them. In the Software Engineer Intern position, you’ll collaborate with a talented team to develop innovative solutions that solve real-world customer problems while gaining hands-on development experience in web, mobile, and server-based platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver software solutions that solve real customer problems while driving strategic business outcomes
- Assist with developing applications enhanced using AI, including: chatbots, image-based tools, and automation frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and test scalable software solutions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tooling
- Contribute to creative solutions for business challenges and technical ownership of applications
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering degree program, with a graduation of December of '27 or later
- Experience with one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C#)
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of databases and SQL, enabling effective handling of data storage and retrieval tasks
- Ability to work part time (15-20 hours) during the school year and full time (40 hours) during the summer
- Applies AI and Technology - Identifies opportunities to boost efficiency and add value using AI and tech. Embraces and applies digital innovations and tech solutions to build business. Eagerly learns and integrates new technologies where they matter most
- Solves Problems - Uses technology and sharp logic to craft inventive solutions to complex issues, digging deep to tackle root causes. Conducts impartial analysis, leaving no stone unturned for comprehensive insights
- Learns Quickly - Rapidly absorbs and applies new information and skills. Innovates and experiments to solve problems, reflecting on both successes and failures for growth
- Strong curiosity and motivation to explore AI capabilities such as natural language processing, computer vision, or generative models
- Excellent ability to collaborate within a fast-paced team, and communicate technical ideas clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript (Node.js/React), or C#, and familiarity with MVC frameworks
- Exposure to or interest in AI and machine learning tools (e.g., OpenAI APIs, Hugging Face models, LangChain)
- Familiarity with Git, version control systems, and agile software development practices
- Prior internship or academic projects involving AI or full-stack development
