Role Overview
As a Forward Deployed Manufacturing Engineer, you will work directly with manufacturing teams to translate real-world build processes into structured, scalable workflows within BuildOS. You will act as a digital manufacturing engineer, helping customers move from legacy processes to a model-based, software-driven system. You will be deeply embedded during pilots and early deployments, ensuring customers not only understand the product—but successfully adopt it.
Responsibilities
● Translate customer assembly processes into BuildOS workflows ● Create and structure work instructions from CAD and engineering data ● Lead onboarding and drive adoption during pilots and early deployments ● Act as a trusted advisor to manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams ● Identify inefficiencies in customer workflows and propose improvements ● Partner with product and engineering to surface high-impact feedback ● Support demos, technical evaluations, and customer check-ins
Qualifications
● Background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering ● Experience working in or closely with manufacturing environments ● Strong intuition for how things are built in the real world ● Ability to break down and structure complex assembly workflows ● Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences ● High ownership and comfort working directly with customers
Technical Background
● Experience with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.) ● Familiarity with PLM / ERP systems and manufacturing workflows ● Understanding of EBOM / MBOM concepts and production processes ● Experience creating or managing work instructions
New York Pay Range
$100,000—$140,000 USD
