Job Description
Summary: Datadog is a global SaaS business focused on enabling digital transformation and cloud migration. The Strategic Finance Associate will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights, collaborating cross-functionally to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Use advanced analytics to study revenue, product / platform, customer usage, and penetration trends
- Develop meaningful insights on those trends, and disseminate analytical insights and action items using dashboards, presentations and reports tuned to various stakeholders and their interests
- Participate in transformation projects to improve processes, automate repetitive tasks, increase data quality, and enable more stakeholders with data insights
- Create deliverables around near-term insights and provide analytical support on forecasting and planning processes
- Craft top-down and bottom-up analyses to deliver long-term insights on the business and growth opportunities
- Support the preparation of presentations
- Collaborate across the organization, including finance, sales ops, product, marketing, and sales
- Support ad hoc analytical projects from senior management, finance, etc
Required Qualifications:
- Strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and an ability to think creatively and critically
- Strong understanding of the financials and metrics performance, as well as the ability to gain understanding the product & market, to distill into accessible and informative reports and narratives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience communicating data heavy insights to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to create and derive analytical implications from complex analyses and forecasting models
- Ability to craft impactful visualizations, reports, and presentations, making analyses
- BA/BS in Data Science, Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative fields
- At least 1-3 years of professional experience, likely as a business analyst, data analyst, or in a quantitative finance or consulting role
- Experience manipulating and analyzing complex datasets using SQL and/or Python
- Proficiency with Excel
