UAT - Buffalo - Driver at Darling Ingredients in Buffalo, NY

Darling Ingredients Inc is seeking a UAT - Buffalo - Driver to join our US_Buffalo_Fleet department. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and delivering products safely and efficiently, ensuring a smooth and timely supply chain process.

As a Driver, you will play a crucial role in our company's logistics and supply chain operations. Your primary responsibility will be to operate commercial vehicles and ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to our customers. You will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of our business operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles, such as trucks and trailers, to transport goods and materials.
• Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries, considering traffic conditions and weather.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper placement and securement of goods.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, quantities, and any issues encountered.
• Inspect vehicles before and after trips, performing basic maintenance and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Communicate with dispatchers and customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any concerns.
• Assist in loading and unloading operations when needed, ensuring efficient cargo handling.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, keeping it in good working condition.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles.
• Be physically fit and able to perform manual labor tasks, such as loading and unloading cargo.
• Excellent knowledge of road regulations and safety practices.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools.
• Be a US citizen and have the right to work in the United States.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening as per company policy.
