TB GRIND/BLENDER OPERATOR at Darling Ingredients in Dubuque, IA

Primary responsibilities of the Grind/Blender Operator include one or more of the following processes: blending intermediate gelatin into finished product for the customer, including occasional sieving of product; packaging the gelatin to prepare for shipment and preparing, loading, & receiving shipments.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Completion of cleaning schedule
2. Locates and stores gelatin
3. Blends gelatin according to instructions
4. Packages samples and labels gelatin according to instructions
5. Load trucks and containers
6. Performs weight control
7. Completes department forms as required

Supervisory Responsibility

This job has no supervisory responsibilities unless individual holds a Team Leader position.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Positi****on Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are 3ON / 3OFF, 12.3 Hour shifts. Due to the 24/7 nature of the plant, work on Weekends, Holidays, and Overtime are requirements of the position.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2. 1-3 months related experience and/or training

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Experience in a manufacturing environment
2. Fork Lift experience or Hoisting license is given special consideration

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Valid Driver’s License
