Darling International Canada, Inc. is seeking an experienced LT-Lead Hand to join our CA_Moorefield_Plant_Ops team. The successful candidate will oversee operations, manage a team, and ensure efficient and safe production processes.
As the LT-Lead Hand, you will play a crucial role in our plant operations, leading a team of skilled workers. Your primary focus will be to ensure smooth and efficient production processes, maintaining high standards of quality and safety. You will collaborate closely with the plant manager and other leads to optimize operations and achieve production targets.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient production flow.
- Manage and motivate a team of production workers, providing guidance and support.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the plant manager to develop and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, challenges, and goals.
- Train and mentor new team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of production activities.
- Identify and address any production bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of successful team management and motivation.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for production tracking.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, and manual dexterity.
- A positive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
