Summary: Daniels Construction is looking for a Safety Co-op/Intern to support their operations in construction safety management. This role provides hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, site inspections, and safety training, working closely with project teams to ensure adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities: - Assist with workplace safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits - Work with supervisors and employees to help identify potential hazards and promote safe work practices - Support the development, review, and updating of safety policies and procedures - Help maintain safety documentation, including training records, inspection logs, and corrective action reports - Participate in or observe incident investigations, including root cause analysis and recommendations - Assist in delivering or preparing materials for safety trainings and toolbox talks - Track and maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation, including OSHA - Support ongoing safety awareness campaigns and employee engagement initiatives - Participate in new hire safety orientations - Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices on site while enforcing job site safety standards - Collect and analyze safety performance data - Perform other EHS-related tasks as assigned Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma and/or GED, required - Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field - Strong interest in workplace safety, compliance, and hazard prevention - Strong communication, observation, and problem‑solving skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment - Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments - Strong understanding of the basics of construction, willingness to learn, and not afraid to get dirty Preferred Qualifications: - Basic understanding of OSHA or other EHS regulations (preferred but not required) Required Skills: Construction Management, Occupational Safety, EHS Regulations Important Skills: Safety Training
