POSITION: Line Cook II
DEPARTMENT: Foods
REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager/Shift Supervisor
TOUR OF DUTY: Varies
SUPERVISES: None
GENERAL FUNCTION: The Line Cook II (Kitchen Cook) position plans, prepares and cooks food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for customers. This position is the first-level supervisory role in the Line Cook series (I, II, III).
DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares menu dishes following established recipes and using designated ingredients that meet production and quality standards.
- Helps keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently.
- Utilizes portion and presentation standards to create appealing and flavorful dishes.
- Prepare unique dishes to fulfill guest requests.
- Follow all applicable guidelines and regulations for food handling and safety.
- Ensures proper food handling, sanitation and following food storage procedures.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workstation and kitchen equipment.
- Maintains inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in preparation of food.
- Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Eighteen (18) years of age. Previous food handling and/or kitchen experience.
OTHER:
Must obtain non-gaming license upon hire. Ability to handle diverse situations and/or people. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent guest service skills. Flexible availability; able to work any shifts including occasional short notice shifts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift up to thirty (30) pounds or more. Ability to carry up to twenty (20) pounds on a continual basis. Standing or walking for extended periods of time. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature and air quality. Potential hazards may include but not limited to: slipping and tripping.
