Job Description
Summary: D.A. Davidson & Co. is a firm that provides quality financial solutions and personalized advice to a diverse range of clients. They are seeking an Experienced Research Associate to partner with Analysts, providing analysis and insights on publicly traded companies and industry trends, while contributing to published research and developing expertise in financial modeling.
Responsibilities:
- Support Research Analyst(s) in:
- Making bold calls and producing actionable research for Davidson’s institutional clients
- Researching market and industry trends and company specifics to become an expert in your sector
- Creating, maintaining, and updating data in financial models, and creating tables and graphs that clearly illustrate the information
- Gain experience necessary to:
- Formulate and issue opinions and recommendations on securities and companies in one or more industry groups
- Prepare reports and statistical data for dissemination to firm clients and the investing public
- Answer inquiries from customers, personnel of the firm, and the general public regarding individual securities or industry groups
- Discuss research findings with Sales & Trading associates and institutional clients (e.g., analysts and portfolio managers at top mutual funds and hedge funds)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA; CFA a plus
- 1 to 3 years of experience in equity research, investment analysis, or other relevant accounting or finance related work
- Bright, mature, and highly motivated with the desire to excel and ability to adapt in an intellectually challenging environment
- Passionate about capital markets and a desire to become highly skilled in equity research
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work well on a self-directed basis
- Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation abilities
- Working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Securities Industry Essentials Exam, Series 86, 87 and 63 licenses strongly preferred but not required. New hires without these licenses will require successful completion upon hiring
