Summary: Cytovale is a dynamic, late-stage startup focused on developing innovative diagnostic solutions for immune-mediated diseases. The Innovation & Development Summer Intern will contribute to hands-on bench work and AI-enabled process tool development to enhance experimental efficiency and data analysis. Responsibilities: - Execute experiments and run the Cytovale System instrument to collect assay data on in-house IVD systems and benchtop prototypes - Support hands-on testing of instrument sub-systems and consumables to validate core functionality - Maintain laboratory documentation, including laboratory notebooks, protocol documents, and electronic laboratory records, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with regulatory requirements - Provide broad support to ongoing Engineering workstreams; i.e. data analysis, part drawing updates, requirements and risk management, etc - Build and iterate on AI-enabled process tools and scripts that wrangle experimental datasets, automate routine analyses, and surface trends for the broader team - Participate in cross-functional team projects to support the development and implementation of new processes and technologies, and contribute to the generation of technical reports and documentation Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related life sciences / engineering field - Hands-on wet-lab experience including pipetting, sample prep, working with biological specimens, and following written protocols - Technical interest to develop proficiency with the Cytovale assay, consumables, and instrument - Working proficiency in Python (or similar) for data analysis, scripting, and basic automation - Strong written and verbal communication; able to document work clearly and present findings to a cross-functional audience Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with using AI tools (e.g., LLM-based assistants) to accelerate coding, analysis, and documentation tasks Required Skills: Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Wet-lab techniques, Pipetting, Sample preparation, Biological specimen handling, Protocol adherence, Python programming, Data analysis, Scripting, Basic automation, AI tools for coding and analysis
