Position Summary
The Lead Director, Pharmacy Evolution is a senior leader responsible for identifying, shaping, and advancing new growth opportunities within the Retail Pharmacy portfolio. This role evaluates emerging market needs, develops strategic business cases, and leads early-stage initiatives from concept through pilot to inform enterprise decisions. The role balances innovation with operational feasibility and regulatory requirements to deliver patient-centered, scalable solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities
Lead identification and incubation of new pharmacy growth opportunities, advancing initiatives from concept through pilot execution
Develop strategic roadmaps and business cases, including market analysis, financial modeling, risk assessment, and implementation planning
Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, technology, and clinical teams to align priorities and drive execution
Influence senior leadership through data-driven insights, recommendations, and performance tracking
Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing team (2–5 direct reports), establishing governance, milestones, and accountability
Required Qualifications
10+ years of professional experience in strategy, innovation, consulting, healthcare, or related fields
Demonstrated experience developing and evaluating business cases, including financial and operational analysis
Proven ability to lead complex initiatives across multiple workstreams in a matrixed organization
Experience managing and developing teams, with strong project management and execution skills
Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and adapt to shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, consulting, private equity, venture capital, or emerging technology strategy
Deep understanding of patient behavior, pharmacy operations, or clinical and regulatory considerations
Strong executive communication and stakeholder influence skills
Experience leading change initiatives or transformation programs
Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, or similar)
Education
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
