A Day in the Life of a Respiratory Therapist

Respiratory Therapists at our facility assess and treat a wide range of respiratory conditions, tailoring care to each patient's specific needs from newborns to the elderly. Using the latest medical technologies, they administer therapies such as oxygen, medications, and ventilatory support, adhering to strict safety and hospital protocols. Collaboration is key; therapists work closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians and nurses, to integrate and optimize patient care plans. They are adept at functioning autonomously in high-pressure environments, making critical decisions quickly and accurately. Routine responsibilities include thorough documentation of treatments and outcomes, participating in clinical rounds, and engaging in ongoing education and support for patients and their families.
