Job Description
Summary: Curtiss-Wright Corporation is a leading company in the flow control industry, and they are seeking a Safety Intern to assist with various safety-related tasks. The role involves conducting risk assessments, creating safety surveys, managing chemical inventories, and developing training materials, while spending significant time on the production floor.
Responsibilities:
- Match risk assessments to JHA
- Create PMs in New near miss portal to all machines
- Create safety survey and collect data
- Chemical Nfpa signs in paint chemical room
- Add QR codes to all chemical cabinets
- Search out all expired chemicals and go through with leads on what we don’t need
- Create safety recognition program
- Add near misses and complete action/follow up on actions
- Create new hire power point and test
- Help Marty when he needs an extra hand
- Add training from standard work and forklift training to New near miss portal
- Look at aspects and their impacts on energy usage and see how we can reduce them over a 20-year baseline
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to match risk assessments to JHA
- Experience creating PMs in New near miss portal
- Ability to create safety surveys and collect data
- Knowledge of Chemical NFPA signs
- Experience adding QR codes to chemical cabinets
- Ability to search out expired chemicals and collaborate with leads
- Experience creating safety recognition programs
- Ability to add near misses and complete action/follow up on actions
- Experience creating new hire training materials (PowerPoint and tests)
- Willingness to assist team members as needed
- Ability to add training from standard work and forklift training to New near miss portal
- Ability to analyze aspects and their impacts on energy usage
- Willingness to work 70% or more of the time on the floor
