Job Description
The Team Leader provides direction and assistance to a work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
As a Team Leader, you will oversee and direct the supervision of a group of employees on a scheduled shift, including training and scheduling, to ensure that policies and procedures are followed for quality and accuracy of inventory. Other responsibilities include collaborating with managers to create effective procedures and controls.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of hourly employees to support the business
- Drive daily schedule attainment to meet all internal and external customer commitments with top quality at the lowest cost, implement a strategy to reduce cycle times, drive VCP, reduce in-process inventory levels, and improve quality, service and safety
- Develop, coordinate, lead and execute daily production plans
- Work with Engineering and Product Service to identify root causes and solve external quality issues
- Provide input to Engineering on new product development, ensuring that products will be serviceable
- Provide Product Service content for and assist in the development of training courses for new and updated products
- Report product defects ensuring these are resolved and report solutions in current CRM database
- Coordinate with Product Development and other departments to ensure service requirements are voiced
- Maintain product knowledge as new products are released
- Support all current Technical Support Agreements, Supporting Services Agreements, or other support related agreements
- Accomplish goals while maintaining high team morale, employee involvement, safety and teamwork
- Provide leadership as a role model through coaching, teaching, counseling including disciplinary action, if necessary, to the employees
- Be a strong advocate for following safe practices and ensuring all safety rules and regulations are communicated and practiced.
- Be on the constant look-out and involved in improvement opportunities to drive a “continuous improvement” culture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all functions in the area including
- Receiving and storage of products.
- Inventory Management.
- Shipping thru all process types.
- Ensure timely and accurate record keeping
- Transactions using PCs, barcoding devices, etc.
- SAP functionality
- Data pertaining to customer orders, production, quality, materials, safety, etc.
- Other that may be deemed necessary by management from time-to-time.
- Understand and manage the workings of the shipping process end to end.
- Be diligent in keeping Shipping and Receiving cycle times in the area to 3 days and understand its importance to making the 2-week customer delivery process work
- Understand the functioning of the Cycle Count process and the impact this has on the efficient running of the area.
- Be a strong advocate of Lean and help seat the Business Transformation Process. Also, keep the area clean and organized using 5S principles
- Work to instill a culture of outstanding customer service, high quality and high productivity
- Provide leadership to employees by being a good role model. Also, serve as coach, teacher, counselor, and be willing to take appropriate disciplinary action if needed. Work with HR to keep appropriate personnel records
- Be a strong advocate of Safety by making sure all safety rules and regulations are communicated and practiced
- Be on the constant look-out for improvement opportunities and practice “continuous improvement”
- Be able to anticipate issues and take steps for their quick resolution. Should minimize ignoring problems and letting them fester
- Practice common sense and good judgment
Qualifications Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field or HS diploma/GED
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fixture assembly, test or a combination of both. Previous experience using SAP.
- Previous experience in QC, Customer Service, or as a Production Coordinator is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities, act independently, and use sound judgment.
- Proficiency with applicable computer systems and software (Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP Systems)
- Effective communication skills: oral, written and presentation
- Lean, Six-Sigma, Greenbelt experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of Current products.
- Familiarity with ISO-9000 requirements
- Obtain appropriate mobile equipment license for the position
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This hourly range is $35.68 - $36.75.
