Job Description
Summary: Cubic Corporation is a leading provider of transportation systems, and they are seeking a Field Services Technician 1 to perform testing, repair, and maintenance of electronic equipment at field locations. This role involves installing new equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal functionality of devices under close supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Install and perform maintenance and repairs on equipment. May also assist senior field technicians as needed at field locations
- Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions using hand tools, test equipment, schematics, and manuals
- Interpret schematics, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform system checks to ensure operational readiness of devices
- Recommend improvements to circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
- Build cable assemblies and Printed Circuit Board (PCB’s) as required
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in compliance with contractual obligations
- Professionally interface with customer agencies to provide support and maintain strong client relationships
- Collaborate with other technicians to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware issues

- Perform general maintenance, technical and semi-technical tasks not limited to electronics
- Develop technical skills through hands on learning and training
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures, including DOT regulations for safety sensitive roles
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in electronic equipment maintenance and repair or related field
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and common software applications
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field
- Ability to follow instruction, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical documentation
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in challenging environments (e.g., crowded public stations, extreme temperatures, noisy areas, extended standing, and stair climbing)
- Flexibility to work on-call, weekends, or holidays as needed
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
