Job Description
Summary: Cresset is an award-winning independent multi-family office and private investment firm. The Equity Research Associate will focus on investment manager research and due diligence for various equity strategies, requiring engagement with investment managers and the generation of analytical reports.
Responsibilities:
- Attend meetings with investment managers and prepare post-meeting reports for dissemination to colleagues across the organization and to clients
- Create and update investment manager reports used for reviews and recommendations to clients
- Assist with underwriting new investment ideas by analyzing firm background, investment strategy, historical performance, portfolio positioning, and fund terms
- Utilize investment tools including eVestment, Bloomberg, and MSCI ESG to conduct manager analysis and comparisons
- Create asset class reviews summarizing major trends, including macroeconomic backdrop, performance drivers, competitive landscape, and key client considerations
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree
- 1-3 years of experience within the financial services industry through internships or full-time positions
- Excellent written communication skills (a writing sample is required for consideration)
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask and organize competing priorities and deadlines
- Analytical problem-solving and data analysis skills with high attention to detail
- Intellectual curiosity and desire for constant learning
- Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of capital markets and securities analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- academic concentration in economics, finance, or business
- experience at a foundation, endowment, family office, investment bank, asset/equity manager, or investment consultant
- specific asset class experience
- experience with investment technology (Bloomberg, eVestment, etc)
