Mitigation/Cleaning Contents Technician
Location: Reno, Nevada
CRBR is looking for a dependable, hardworking Mitigation & Cleaning/Contents Technician to join our restoration team.
This position works on residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, and other types of property damage. You will assist with mitigation, demolition, drying, structural cleaning, contents cleaning, pack-outs/pack-ins, and restoration of customers' belongings.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team, takes pride in their work, and can provide professional service to customers during stressful situations.
What You'll Do
- Respond to water, fire, smoke, mold, and other property damage projects.
- Set up and monitor drying equipment, air scrubbers, and negative air machines.
- Perform moisture checks and document drying progress.
- Set up containment and critical barriers.
- Perform selective demolition and removal of affected materials.
- Perform mold remediation, antimicrobial applications, and detailed cleaning.
- Clean fire and smoke damage from structures and contents.
- Pack, inventory, move, clean, store, and return customers' belongings.
- Handle furniture and personal belongings carefully to prevent damage.
- Complete job documentation, photos, and required paperwork.
- Maintain clean and organized jobsites, vehicles, equipment, and supplies.
- Properly use PPE, including respirators, gloves, and eye protection.
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
- Assist with training newer employees based on experience.
- Cross-train and assist with Mitigation, Cleaning, and Contents projects as needed.
- Participate in the on-call emergency response rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Work overtime when required.
What We're Looking For
- Restoration, mitigation, construction, cleaning, contents, moving, or inventory experience preferred.
- Water/fire restoration experience is a plus.
- IICRC/WRT certification is a plus.
- Experience with iCAT, MICA, Matterport, Xactimate, or similar restoration software is a plus.
- Ability to safely use restoration equipment, tools, and cleaning products.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using mobile apps, email, photos, and electronic job documentation.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required for positions operating company vehicles.
- Must be able to meet respirator fit requirements when respirator use is required.
- Must be available for overtime and participate in the on-call rotation.
Physical & Work Requirements
This is a hands-on field position performed in customers' homes, businesses, warehouses, and active restoration jobsites. Work environments may include water damage, smoke residue, mold, dust, odors, debris, and other unsanitary conditions. Appropriate PPE is provided and required when applicable.
Candidates must be able to:
- Lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, materials, boxes, furniture, and customer contents weighing up to 75 lbs., with assistance or equipment when appropriate.
- Climb ladders and stairs.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in various physical positions.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Work in confined or restricted spaces when required.
- Safely work around cleaning products, antimicrobial products, dust, odors, and restoration-related materials.
This position is performed on-site and in the field and is not eligible for remote work.
