They are seeking college students for their Internship Program, which provides hands-on experience in financial services, including accounting and financial analysis tasks, paired with mentorship to foster industry understanding. Responsibilities: - Prepares accounting or financial transactions and/or journal entries and vouchers - Accounts receivable research and gathering billing support - Performs reconciliations of prepaid accounts to include setting up recurring entries to amortize prepaid transactions - Performs gas accounting and prepares gas schedules - Performs overhead rate analysis to evaluate adequacy of the existing overhead rates - Involved with storeroom inventory reporting and analysis - Performs basic statistical/variance analysis on accounts/reports - Shadows analysts and managers by attending business meetings - Assists on special projects and teams as requested by management - Performs other accounting related duties and functions as assigned Required Qualifications: - Current college transcript is required for the application - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline - A minimum GPA of 2.5 - Must currently reside within 120 miles of CPS Energy Headquarters - Demonstrated leadership potential - Self-motivated and results oriented - Exceptional communication skills - Effective networking skills - Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Demonstrate an interest in a career applicable to the utility industry - Participate in full-time employment with CPS Energy - Attend all activities sponsored by CPS Energy during employment - Pass a drug test and background screen prior to employment with CPS Energy - Submit application, resume, transcripts - Must be a college student; currently enrolled in a related discipline Preferred Qualifications: - Communicates Effectively - Learning Quickly - Serving Customers - Delivering High Quality Work - Adapting to Others Required Skills: Microsoft Office, Accounting, Financial analysis, Technical accounting research, Account reconciliations, Journal entries, Accounts receivable, Billing support, Prepaid accounts amortization, Gas accounting, Overhead rate analysis, Inventory reporting, Statistical analysis, Variance analysis
