Band 5 FPS Dental Team Leader at Cpl in Belfast BT2 8DQ

Flexsource NI are working with BSO in their search for a Band 5 Dental Team leader, to lead a busy Payments Team within their Family Practitioner Services.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, on a temporary basis until December 2026.

Responsibilities

· Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the Payments Team.

· Allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure organisational deadlines are achieved.

· Ensure payments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with Standing Financial Instructions and relevant regulations.

· Monitor payment throughput, identify backlogs and implement solutions to improve performance.

· Analyse payments data and produce reports, recommendations and management information.

· Develop and improve payment processes, controls and reporting systems.

· Ensure robust controls are in place to prevent fraudulent or unauthorised payments.

· Provide advice and guidance to staff, contractors and stakeholders on payment-related matters.

· Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to service developments.

· Manage, coach and support staff while promoting a positive and collaborative team culture.

Criteria:

Applicants must have:

• A relevant degree/professional qualification with 2 years' management experience in Finance/Payments, or 4 years' management experience in a Finance/Payments environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing workloads and working to deadlines.
• Knowledge of financial systems and payment processes.
• Strong Excel and IT skills, with the ability to analyse data and produce reports.
• Knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles.
• A full UK driving licence and access to transport (or suitable alternative arrangements where applicable).

· Experience within Family Practitioner Services (Dental, GP, Pharmacy or Ophthalmic payments) is desirable

· Experience using FPS finance systems is desirable
