Job Description
Do you want to play a key role in some of Denmark’s largest and most complex energy infrastructure projects? Are you an experienced planner who creates structure, transparency, and progress in complex projects? Then join us at COWI and help shape the future of sustainable energy infrastructure.
Become a vital part of our Energy team
As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in planning and delivering large and complex energy and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will work at Energinet as part of a COWI team supporting some of Energinet’s important projects. You will take ownership of project schedules and work closely with project managers, technical specialists, contractors and suppliers to create transparency, manage dependencies and risks, and keep projects moving forward.
Furthermore, you will support projects throughout their lifecircle – from early development and design through tendering and execution. Beyond maintaining schedules, you will function as a trusted sparring partner to project management, using planning and schedule analysis to support informed decision-making, identify challenges and drive corrective actions. Through your work at Energinet, you will gain the opportunity to contribute directly to projects that are central to Denmark’s energy infrastructure and green transition.
Your official COWI office location will be either Lyngby, Vejle or Aarhus. However, your primary workplace will be at Energinet in Erritsø, but Ballerup could also be an option, with some travel to Erritsø. You will report to Head of Discipline, Ioana Nicoleta Tuglui, who is based at COWI's headquarter in Lyngby.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Planner, you will:
- Develop, maintain, and optimise integrated project schedules using Primavera OPC and MS Project.
- Monitor project progress together with project managers and technical leads, identify deviations and support corrective actions.
- Identify and manage critical paths, dependencies, interfaces, and schedule risks across project activities.
- Perform baseline management, what-if analyses and schedule risk assessments.
- Review and validate schedules from contractors, suppliers, and other project partners.
- Prepare clear progress and status reports, providing transparency on milestones, risks, dependencies, and deviations.
- Ensure schedules support effective progress, risk, and resource management.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of robust planning methodologies, processes, and tools across our projects.
- Provide planning expertise and constructive challenge to project management and project teams.
Your skills. Our team. Together, we design the future.
You are an experienced and proactive planner who is comfortable taking ownership of complex project schedules. You understand that good planning is about more than maintaining a programme – you use the schedule to create transparency, challenge assumptions, identify risks and support project management in making informed decisions.
You enjoy working across disciplines and are confident engaging with project managers, technical specialists, customers, contractors, and suppliers. You bring a structured and analytical approach while being able to communicate complex information in a clear and practical way.
On top of that, you will have:
- Extensive experience in project planning and project controls, preferably from large and complex energy, infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects.
- Strong experience developing, managing, and integrating complex project schedules.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera and MS Project. Primavera OPC experience is a requirement.
- Experience with progress monitoring, critical path analysis, baseline management, schedule risk assessments and what-if analysis.
- Experience reviewing and validating contractor and supplier schedules.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to turn complex schedule information into clear and actionable decision support.
- Excellent oral and written Danish skills.
Experience from major energy infrastructure, transmission, utilities or other large-scale construction projects in Denmark will be a strong advantage.
