As a Software Engineering intern, you will assist in developing high-quality systems and solutions that drive the company's technical architecture and support various integrations and internal tools. Responsibilities: - Help drive overall technical architecture and engineering practices - Work on the team’s hardest problems by building high-quality, architecturally sound systems - Translate business needs into workable technology solutions - Build the software that powers the Quoting Engine, User Dashboard servicing API’s, Internal Agency Management tools, AI tools, and current and future integrations with various 3rd party API’s - Work on complex internal relational databases Required Qualifications: - Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, with an expected graduation of Spring 2026 - Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations - One or more object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python) (Preferably Java) - Building micro services and familiar with Spring architecture - Distributed service-oriented architecture - Comfort integrating with complex 3rd party API's - Comfort working with complex Data Models/relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) - Highly available and highly scalable systems - Taking a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project Required Skills: Java, Microservices, Spring architecture, PostgreSQL Important Skills: Object-oriented programming, API integration, Data modeling Nice-to-Have Skills: Software development life cycle, Coding standards, Code reviews, Source control management, Testing, Operations
