Cornerstone Ireland are recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable Tier 1 main contractor for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major data centre project in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.

The Role

As Senior Engineer, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery and engineering coordination of works on site, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Management team, subcontractors and design team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and coordinating setting out and surveying activities
• Taking responsibility for the engineering and technical aspects of the project
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements
• Reviewing technical drawings and identifying potential issues before they impact delivery
• Liaising with the Project Manager, Site Management team, subcontractors and design team
• Coordinating RFIs, technical queries and design changes
• Monitoring quality and ensuring compliance with project specifications
• Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information and technical documentation
• Supporting the planning and sequencing of construction activities
• Assisting with the resolution of technical and construction issues on site
• Ensuring all works are completed in line with health & safety requirements

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong experience as a Site Engineer / Senior Engineer within a main contracting environment
• Proven experience working on large-scale construction projects
• Strong setting out, surveying and construction methodology knowledge
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of quality, health & safety and programme requirements
• Experience on data centre or other complex/mission-critical projects would be highly advantageous
